I will be arriving back in the states in a week a bit ragged but full for stories.
I was deep in the jungle in taja 2 weeks ago were I took apart I got to repair a water filter to bless the pastor we stayed with. And got to meet a lot of beautiful people from the Wamena Trible. But the highlight was Meeting a beautiful Muslim women during are home visits. As we walked into he dark shack we saw her lying on a mat on the floor she look 9 moths pregnancy because of chronic malaria and liver problems. She didn’t have long to live and there wasn’t any medical help we could really give her. So we ask to pray with her and asked if she new the storey of Jesus. She said she had never herd of him, my little heart broke. We shared the storey of Jesus life and asked if she would like to accepted him as her savor. To my surprise she immediately said yes! And after she prayed with us there was aglow in the room and it was coming from her. We continued to visit her for a few more days and praying for her.
The pastor we stayed with continued to see her and we found out her stomach shrank a little and she was actually up throwing rocks at the cows from her front yard. I think that’s a good sign a miracle happened.

I am putting together a little slid show to make up for the lack of photos on the page and will let you all know with in the week. Thank you so much for your prayers and I will see you all very soon.

Dumb Americans!

I heard 3 horns, thinking we should hurry, as my team chows down fish from a side market on a stop over in a small island on are way to Baik. The next thing I know is we are running full speed as people left and right are rushing us and shouting at us, some little kids are even running with us! I look up, seeing the steps to the ship being pulled up, so there goes our way onto our ship. So we get pushed in to what I think is a motor boat, losing my shoe as we clear a cement wall to hop in the boat. The whole village has now come for the show, shouting and laughing at us. The engine dies on the motor boat, it starts again praise Jesus and we attempt to hop from boat to ship still moving with all eyes on us. Then we are rushed to the captains office where are translator gets the 3rd degree. “Do you like Papuan Men? Next time I will leave you here and you will have to marry Papuan man!” he shouted. As we walk to the cabin in the ship trying to hold are tail between our legs, we bust up in laughter as we meet up with the rest of the team. All I can think is dumb Americans!

Outreach has been amazing so far, after are 24hr ship ride we have treated 4 or 5 villages and I have seen many smiling faces and God free so many people everywhere we have gone. I have see some heart reaching moments like a 7 year old boy with a blown ear drum because of abuse from his father; skin diseases that covered the whole body, a woman collapsing in the clink because of malaria, and 6 month old baby wrapped up in cloth drenched in sweat with a fever of 106. But in all of these God moved in prayer and we were able to help with education and medication. I love our merciful God!
We leave to the High lands soon to do a heath seminar with the village leaders teaching them things like how to give a safe prenatal care; sanitation and how to make outhouses, and discipleing them also in the bible and encouraging them. I can’t wait! (good evening)

I woke up in Indonesia (West Papua) It has been quite an adventure. Busy roads with the sound of beeping horns and sometimes 4-5 people zooming by on one motorbike. Their version of fast food here is a man walking down a street, carrying two cases of donuts on one stick on his shoulders.

Yesterday we had an amazing clinic. We treated about 87 people in a nearby village. At the start of the clinic, while we were doing our teaching, 30 year old, Tinki, came with her two daughters. She was drenched in sweat and shivering, too weak to stand. A few of us rushed over to her. We suspected she had a really dangerous strand of Malaria. As we tested her for it, she shared with us her story. Seven years ago, she was physically blind, and a devout Muslim. But God healed her eyes and she saw again. She beieved that Jesus can heal, and he has been her Savior ever since. I checked her temperature and it was dangerously high. In between her telling us the story, she fell in and out of consciousness, having fits. I was really worried about brain damage, and we didn't have strong enough medication to help her. I asked her if she would go to the hopsital, and she spoke saying, her and her family live in the garden. And her husband recycles rubbish off the street. And that she has no money for the hospital. Our leader gave some of her own money to go buy stronger medication from the pharmacy. And we found a place for her to rest. We prayed with her for healing and I saw tears of pleading run down her face. My gut feeling inside is that only GOd can help this woman right now. I joined the rest of the team as we treated a wide range of sicknesses. TB, skin diseases, worms...but my mind was still on her. Lunch came around, and I made sure she and her girls had some food and water. I checked her temperature and Terrimikasi Yesus (Thank you, Jesus), her fever was completely gone! And she was able to eat. As I sat with her on the floor, thanking Jesus, my heart was overjoyed by the fact that we serve a loving GOd that saw her in the garden and brought her to us to be healed.

Bogei Bogei Namona! (Good Morning!)

It was the morning after Christmas and all through the base not a creature was stirring not even a gecko except the team of Primary Heath care workers.
We hopped off the plane in Port Moresby by the grace of God with a visa for 60 whole days! And an expectation in our sprits for something great. We all piled in a van stacked on top of one another and the only thought in my mind is “ I have hopped inside a book!”
As I turned each page seeing the streets lined with dark colored faces, women carrying bags on their heads and Beatle nut markets lining the streets. My heart started to pound as I realized God had really done it! Our team is here!
The next chapter of the book starts at the village of Saroa, they invited us for the weekend. One hour out of the city we entered a new world, we were greeted with war crys and dancing and blessed with a feast. The village fought over who could house the white visitors. Between the bucket showers and amazing coffee I was able to sit and share stories with these beautiful people. They shared of the missionaries that had come before and the difference they made. God did so much that the picture of the pioneering missionaries still hung on the wall in honor. I learned that the village had been one of the first to receive the story of Jesus and had spread it to the neighboring tribes. Seeing this, God opened my eyes to seeing the difference it can make. I found that a lot of the youth had just recently come back to church and stopped living the city life. I felt moved to share my story of meeting Jesus, the story of the living water, and a new beginning, to encourage them in their new journey with God.
We did skits, sang songs, and we were taught the true meaning of generosity. They said we were and answer to prayer and I believe God wants to bring more missionaries there. One of many miracles we saw were children with severe infection in their eyes. As the kids sat on our laps we prayed for them because we lacked the medication to help. The next day we hiked to the top of the mountain to see the whole village the kids followed and their eyes were healed!

To end this last year with a bang as I watched fireworks go off from the roof top in PNG I thanked God for the miracle of earlier that day. We were struggling to get our visas into Indonesia but not only did God give us our visas on new years eve we personally got invited to sit and have a friendly chat with the head man at the embassy, with a smile of welcome, he blessed us with language books and our visas.
God is amazing and tomorrow we head to a village by boat with small medical supplies and a lot of love. Then off to Indonesia by the 4th of January, to really start the medical journey.
Please continue to pray for us as we inter an Muslim country not speaking the language, and inter an even poorer nation. Pray for are health and safety and that God would use us in mighty and magnificent ways.

Bogei Namnona! Hopefully we will make a big impact and be a wonderful tool for Jesus to show his love and healing power.
Pray that we can get over the boarder to Indonesia and the rest of are money comes so we will have enough money to stay the 2 months in Indonesia. Also for health and safety for are team.
I will try to write if I have Internet otherwise I will talk to you in February, sharing lots of stories of God’s goodness.

Bye!
PS. It is a crazy but wonderful time. I get the privilege of watching so many youth come to understand the love of God and how they can hear his voice.
Also, all the churches in the area, including us, put on a huge reenactment festival by the water, called Stable on the Strand. The whole city comes and they hear the Story of Jesus and what the true gift of Christmas is all about; this year I am a caretaker for the animals!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wGIpABrN9RQ/R2jvj0MoXFI/AAAAAAAAAFE/Rsz4opK0mLk/s320/Papua_New_Guinea_map.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5145625972856872018" />I just finished the last bit of my study. Last week I got to stick one of my classmates with a needle and I also learned how to give out medication and vaccinations properly. I still feel a bit nervous about our mission trip but I know God will fill in the gaps where my brain has failed me. I get more and more excited about how we get to be a part of impacting a Muslim village with healing and compassion. God has blessed this trip so much already with mosquito testing kits (so we can treat malaria), top of the line wound care and toothbrushes to pass out to all the kids! The village is also getting so excited that we are coming to help; they keep contacting us saying how excited they are. I can’t wait to meet them. Hopefully I am able to put together a good video to tell the story of this trip, so I can share it with you.

I do have an urgent prayer request…
I am still short the money to pay for the mission trip, about $1154 AUS. I was able to finally buy my plane ticket today so I could join the team on the plane. But, the rest is for food, housing and transportation to get to the villages. Also, we buy all the medication and vaccinations to treat the villages we see.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_wGIpABrN9RQ/R2jZGUMoXEI/AAAAAAAAAE8/a69VPbdbAC0/s320/001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5145601276794920002" />It is Christmas, so I understand the craziness of the holiday. Think of it this way: if you donate even $10, you will be sending a healthcare worker to a child that is sick, providing medicine and a toothbrush! A child who otherwise would have never been able to get help. I feel like God really wants to bless these people in Irian Jaya by showing them they are important and loved, But he needs people to do this.
Please pray for our team and if you can, give. The need is great since we fly out in 8 days (dec 26th). But if you are unable or have already given, prayer is more powerful than money! I believe God will provide a way. And if I haven’t said it enough, I am so grateful to all of you for praying and reading and just being a part of this. Terima kasih (Thank you).

Two ways to give:

Mail:
Stacy Parker
PMB D23
621 SR 9 NE
Lake Stevens WA 98258-9400
USA

(Preferred because of time) Online:

To Student of IPHC Stacy Parker
http://www.reeftooutback.com/payments.aspx
(This brings you to a secure website of are school and just writing my name on the donation.

Merry Christmas! So I found myself dissecting a sheep’s heart and liver. I was fine until, one of the boys on the team decided to squeeze the heart between his fingers, I became the palest shade of white and almost hit the floor.

There were also two ladies that came in to speak on leprosy; both of them had lived in India for over 7 years. As they shared we learned that there is so much injustice in India because of their belief systems about the poor and sick. It is thought that having Leprosy is punishment for something they did in there past life, the gods cursed them. It breaks my heart to hear such a lie in a culture. (And I know the places we are going struggle with the is similar outlook on Aids.) Leprosy is also not that contagions if you are a healthy person and the dieses can be cured, a lot of the time people are to afraid to touch them when it shouldn’t be the case. One of the ladies shared a bit of her storey, as tears came rolling down my eyes, she told us her husband and 2 sons were burned alive because of there faith in Jesus and the work at the Leprosy hospital. She also, publicly on TV, spoke forgiveness to the killers, that are still unknown. If that doesn’t speak of the power of Jesus I don’t know what does.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wGIpABrN9RQ/R0u8WHllpVI/AAAAAAAAAEk/y0NPMQRlyX8/s320/S5000970.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5137406888126031186" />Then, to top of the month are team had a week of teaching in a tropical rain forest! We studied eyes and nose next to a waterfall. And on Thanks Giving I was praying in the trees and a wild turkey came running past me, I laughed so hard, how ironic is that moment. I know God has a sense of hummer. I was also able to learn how to waive coconut leaves together to make baskets from my Tongan friend named Isaiah; naturally I made it into a purse and used it all week. I could defiantly live in the rain forest for a long time along as I had the waterfall, are bucket shower was a challenge but fun.

I have a wonderful update: over 700$ has come in for Outreach! I will know the full amount soon (thank you Jesus! and to those of you that give and for your prayers)
Thank you for praying for are leader as well, God has healed her and threw this she is getting to talk with a specialist that will help us find good medication to treat the people in Papa New Guinea and Irian Jaya, were she contracted malaria.

Random Fact: To loosen wax or other foreign objects from your ear use warm cooking oil then, a few min. later flush it with warm water.

I Deliverd a Baby Doll!

Highlight of this week…I got to deliver a Child!
Suddenly in class while learning mother and child health, my teacher became pregnant with a 3 pound plastic doll and I had to act fast.
I grabbed the birthing kit we had learned how to make with a rope, blankets, razor and soap. I asked some one to go boil some water and then began…wow who knew all my years of watching “ER” would come in handy. After cutting the umbilical cord and cleaning the child, I was able to breath.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wGIpABrN9RQ/RyV3ouOchCI/AAAAAAAAAEU/-kwAh-aQB4A/s200/S5000659.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5126635292318270498" />We also learned how to treat pregnant mothers in underdeveloped countries, along with treating Anemia (lack of iron in the diet), teaching mothers good practices after the child is born and how to keep them from getting sick.
In Papa New Guinea we may be treating a lot of mothers.

We are also attending an "Intimacy with God" work shop; it has been a real treat to hear a really amazing speaker from NZ named Aaron Walsh. Through the teaching God has been addressing a lot of my deepest desires to draw closer to him. I have been learning so much about how powerful it can be to pray from the heart and how it draws you even closer to him. God created us for pleasure (a relationship with him) and just like smell we don’t actually need it. Aaron then spook about Mathew 7:7, the scripture talks about how if we just ask the door will be open to us, basically God will answer your prayers but what he doesn’t say is the time and how he will, but he does give us a promise in the scripture that he will answer and won’t deny us the desires of our heart.

Prayer requests: Outreach funding to come in $2500 and the rest of my school fees, and for my teacher to become well. Ironically enough she came down with dengue fever and malaria this week after learning about it in class. And for me to have a continued fever to learn and draw closer to him so I can serve the people well in Papa New Guinea and Irian Jaya.

Random Fact: Some developed countries believe that placing manure on the umbilical cord is a good practice.

Back To Palm Island..

Imagine hopping on a plane no bigger than a 6 seater. Turbulence hits the plane threw the hills and you hit the ground.

I got off the plain being greeted by a familiar face and her 2 beautiful boys. Lindsey (Old DTS friend) has started a youth ministry, something God spook about a year ago, to keep the kids out of trouble and love on them with the love of Jesus. I was able to serve dinner and play ball with 24 familiar faces that have grown a bit taller since last summer. So, I started looking at my options: talk to the manger and see if I could give her the money on the 1st (in a few days) and hope that I some how come up with the money by then. Or go to Money Tree and get a loan on my income tax refund, that was coming but a month to late, and pay 85 $ for the loan…grr.

I prayed because I wanted to do the right thing and I knew the apartment was a God thing. I barley heard Him say,"Wait”, But the voice felt so faint because I couldn’t see how I was going to come up with the money. So,un-faithfully I waited.

Later that afternoon, a guy from Progressive Auto Insurance came by to talk to my friend and me. (I got rear-ended the week I got back from Australia and had been seeing a chiropractor for whiplash) After talking with us about the damage, he hands me a check for 700$ and says hey will pay for the chiropractor too.

God came threw, in the most creative way! I never saw it coming from that angle.
But it gets better, I went to the bank to cash the check and the lady at the bank said she was going to have to put a hold on the check. “Crap!” Because it was hand written and for a large amount. I told her the reason I need the money and if she could call my branch and talk to them, for a character reference. She cleared the check and gave me the exact amount for the apartment 875$ in cash. The laid at the bank strongly urged me not to pay cash for the apartment. So, I went to Safeway to get a money order, but there was another problem. I only had exact cash for the money order and not the 1.78$ fee. The teller was very helpful thought, she said if I had my debt card we could just pull out 5$ and I wouldn’t have to buy anything.

So there I was with a money order for the exact amount and 3.10 $ + some pennies in my hand. We all have are normal drinks at Starbucks, mine on a “spoil me day” is a Soy Latte and on a “your broke day” is a Americano. I walk in to Starbucks and hoped that I would have enough for a Soy Latte to celebrate and I had just enough 3.10$!

Now I know that some of you are thinking this is just chance or random circumstances. But I know that My Father in knows me so intimately that He knew I would want a Soy Latte.

I am so glad we have a God that chose to be involved in are lives and not absent. How hopeless would it be to live in a world like that or a state of mind?
